A Bristol marketing agency launched at the end of last year by four of the city’s most- experienced creative executives has recruited an “industry luminary” as a non-executive director and business partner.

Mischievous Wolf said former chief commercial officer of Toys ‘R Us Asia Jo Hall would bring a wealth of experience and a dynamic vision to the agency, “propelling [it] into an exciting new chapter of global growth”.

Ms Hall’s tenure at the US-owned toy retail group had been marked by her exceptional leadership and innovative strategies which revitalised the brand across the region, the agency added.

Her decision to join Mischievous Wolf was testament to the profound shared values and synergies between her and the company’s visionary approach, it said, while its client-centric focus, “powered by fearless creativity and big-thinking ideas, aligned seamlessly with Jo’s ‘obsessive advantage’ strategy for delivering transformative results”.

Mischievous Wolf was launched last December by Phil Marshall, Andrew Woolnough, Michelle Matthews and Dawn Wilson – all formerly of Bristol and London agency Oakwood – with a team of 11 and a client roster across the family, entertainment, and lifestyle sectors that included global games brands Hasbro and Pokémon.

It said Jo, pictured, who spent more than 17 years in Asia, had delivered many groundbreaking initiatives at Toys ‘R Us, including product design and manufacturing in China, innovating key global brand campaigns, rebranding multiple IPs and challenging new immersive retail experiences which set new standards in the industry.

As a result, it expects her appointment to open new opportunities across Asia and strengthen its already strong growth and international reputation.

Mischievous Wolf head of mischief Phil Marshall said: “Jo Hall and I go way back, driven by mutual respect and a shared passion for innovation. Her unparalleled expertise and visionary spirit are pure gold for our team.

“Jo has an incredible knack for seeing how our bold ideas can transform into successful campaigns. She’s exactly the catalyst to push boundaries and set new industry standards.”

The agency’s chief imagination officer Andrew Woolnough added: “We are beyond excited to welcome Jo Hall to our team. Her track record of success and her innovative energy perfectly complement our mission to deliver transformative results for our clients.

“With Jo on board, we are confident that Mischievous Wolf is poised for stellar growth and success.”

Jo Hall said joining Mischievous Wolf felt like a natural fit given their aligned synergies and shared values.

“I have always admired their fearless creativity and commitment to delivering unparalleled results,” she added.

“Together, I believe we can make a significant impact, challenging new frontiers of innovation and redefining traditional industry standards.

“I am incredibly excited to embark on this journey with such a talented and ambitious team.”

Mischievous Wolf has already earned multiple industry accolades this year, including awards for Best Small Agency and Best Agency Culture, as well as an impressive tally of three Platinum, seven Gold, and eight Silvers awards.
