Law firm Richard Slade and Company has officially opened its Bristol office, its first outside London. And to show its commitment to the area it served locally-made bread and cheese to guests at the launch party.

The firm has also recruited experienced employment lawyer Tim Gofton to the office in Queen Square – a sign, it says, that it aims to be a serious player in the Bristol legal market.

Tim, who trained at national law firm Wragge & Co and headed Bath firm Mogers’ employment team, will work alongside Bristol partners Neil Ryan and Amanda Patterson.

Speaking at the official opening party, founder Richard Slade said Bristol was the only city he had in mind for its second office as it was such a vibrant business centre with a rich culture.

To show the firm's commitment to the Bristol area, its fledgling businesses and independent spirit, food at the official opening was supplied by Southville bakery Mark's Bread and cheese by Woefuldane Organic Dairy from Minchinhampton.
