Staff at communications agency McCann’s Bristol offices have become the first in a regional agency to work on a major election campaign.
A volunteer team from the office teamed up with colleagues from McCann in Birmingham to create the poster campaign for the Liberal Democrats.
The series of McCann executions used by the Lib Dems in the run up to the today’s General Election was aimed at engaging the party’s target audience of ‘concerned remainers’.
The main 48-sheet poster merged Theresa May and Nigel Farage’s faces outside 10 Downing Street alongside the strapline ‘Vote her, get him’.
Group creative director Jon Elsom said: “The Liberal Democrats were looking for a visually arresting way to connect with ‘concerned remainers’ – a group that’s worried about what deal a Conservative-led Brexit would actually result in.
“Alluding to UKIP in the creative reminds this audience of the ‘hard Brexit’ that many remainers are anxious to avoid.”
Art direction was by McCann Bristol senior art director Ken Sara and copywriting by Jon Elsom.
