Leisure trust rebrands with an eye on growth

South Gloucestershire Leisure, the organisation appointed by South Gloucestershire Council five years ago to operate and manage its leisure centres, has rebranded as Circadian Trust in a move aimed at further growth.

The leisure centres in Bradley Stoke, Kingswood, Patchway, Downend, Yate, Longwell Green and Thornbury, attract 1.9m annual visits, have an annual turnover of £8.9m and employ around 1,000 people in full and part time roles.

The Circadian rebrand - the term for the cycle the body goes through in a 24-hour period - does not tie it to South Gloucestershire and will make it easier  to explore opportunities elsewhere.

Chief executive Mark Crutchley said: “There has been a lot to celebrate about our offer and what we have achieved over the past five years. We are now ready for a new direction to ensure our future growth and continued investment in our services and surroundings."

The trust, which has invested more than £6m on upgrading and improving services and facilities, will continue to work in partnership with South Gloucestershire Council and retain its social enterprise status, enabling it to pass on subsidised rates for activities such as public and schools swimming, concessionary groups and sports clubs.

Its corporate brand, which aims to reflect the Trust’s core values and future strategy was designed and executed by Bristol graphic designers and web specialists, Omni Productions.
