Bristol-based Integral Build is using its completion of a £7m refurbishment contract at a North London leisure centre to put in the top division for similar schemes.
The 11-month project for client Fusion Lifestyle has transformed Tottenham Green Leisure Centre. The work came on the back of Integral Build’s successful refurbishment of Fusion’s Braintree Leisure Centre in Essex 2013.
Now Integral Build, which handles interiors, refurbishment and fit-out projects, wants to use its latest work to showcase its skills and expertise in this specialist area.
The Tottenham Green transformation involved demolishing and rebuilding the centre’s wet changing facilities and the full refurbishment of all other areas including the health suites and training pool.
The health suite now features sauna and steam rooms, an ice feature, rain shower and relaxation areas while the wet changing area has both group and dedicated male, female and family changing rooms.
The training pool’s water quality has been vastly improved with a new filtration system which also controls its temperature.
The pool surround has been re-tiled and windows installed to provide a much lighter environment. New facilities include a café with external seating and a double-storey soft play area overlooking the pool.
The exercise studio is now bigger, with a new floor, mirrors and air handling unit along with a state-of-the-art lighting and sound system.
Integral Build divisional director Tim Stringer said: “The project at Tottenham Green really puts Integral Build into the major projects division for leisure and health club refurbishment projects and it has been a pleasure to continue a working relationship with Fusion.
“This second project really proves our ability to be able to deliver complex refurbishment projects within fast-track, live environments.”
The work represented a key part of Fusion’s redevelopment programme. The firm provides sport and leisure management services on behalf of 18 partners at 70-plus community sport and leisure facilities in London, the South East and the Midlands. Its clients include local authorities and other organisations.
