Bristol-based Latin American restaurant chain Las Iguanas is continuing its national roll-out by opening its 39th outlet in Torquay.
The restaurant, in the English Riveria resort’s £12m Abbey Sands development, will create 50 jobs ahead of its April opening.
Licensing aspects of the deal were handled by Bristol-headquartered law firm TLT, a long-standing advisor to Las Iguanas.
TLT licensing partner Matthew Phipps said: “Having worked with Las Iguanas for over 10 years, we understand exactly what they want. By securing this premises licence, we are delighted to see Las Iguanas’ geographical reach increase, helping deliver their growth plans.”
The outlet will be open until midnight every day and 1am on Friday and Saturday nights.
Las Iguanas chief executive Mos Shamel added: “Expanding into Torquay, one of the UK’s top tourist spots, was an important strategic step for Las Iguanas.
Throughout the negotiations, TLT once again provided first-rate commercial advice, ensuring that the premise licence application was successfully granted.”
Las Iguanas was launched in 1991 when it opened its first restaurant in St Nicholas Street, Bristol.
