The Bristol office of national property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has appointed Marcus Plaw as director of planning as it continues to build its portfolio in the South West.
Marcus, pictured, joins from Colliers International where he was associate director. At LSH he will provide a planning consultancy service across the region for both public and private sector clients, including landowners, residential and commercial property developers, financial institutions and local authorities.
He will focus on strategic land promotion, the preparation and negotiation of planning applications and planning appeal work.
Marcus said: “As the planning system continues to change in response to the Government’s growth agenda, landowners and developers are keen to understand the implications of new legislation that refocuses planning at the local level alongside ongoing changes to permitted development rights.
“These are important issues for our clients, so I am delighted to have joined Lambert Smith Hampton, where I will lead the delivery of a planning consultancy service in the South West alongside an established and growing range of advisory services.
“I’m joining the company at an exciting time and I’m looking forward to contributing towards its continued growth.”
Bristol head of office Darren Sheward added: “Marcus comes to us with an impeccable pedigree when it comes to matters relating to planning and we are very pleased that he will be working with us to offer this new service for clients across the region.
“It is the ideal opportunity for us to branch out further as we continue to expand and win new business in the region.”
Marcus, originally from Wolverhampton, studied at Dundee University and gained a degree in town and regional planning. He moved to Bristol in 1998.
