Bristol-based specialist insurer April UK has strengthened its management team as part of an ambitious national expansion programme.
The firm – which recently opened its UK headquarters in North Bristol – has appointed Wayne Carter as sales director responsible for developing sales distribution lines and strengthening the overall management team.
Wayne, pictured, joins from Cardiff-based insurance broker Active Quote Health, bringing with him a wealth of experience and knowledg
e having worked within the PMI (private medical insurance) industry for more than 16 years.
April UK chief executive Sarah Buck said: “Wayne has a proven track record at building successful sales distribution lines and his appointment is a huge gain for us.
“He will play a key role in our expansion programme.”
Established in 1997, April UK is part of the international APRIL Group headquartered in Lyon, France, which looks after 6m policyholders in 37 countries worldwide.
April UK has around 30 full-time staff based at Almondsbury Business Centre, providing support for its business consultants as well as a growing network of brokers servicing customers across the UK and Ireland.
The firm sells a range of protection plans, including income protection, life insurance, private medical insurance, personal accident, medical cash, home insurance, commercial insurance and funeral plans, as well as providing cover for professional sportsmen and women.
