Aspiring filmmakers are being invited to meet top industry professionals and other young creatives during an action-packed ‘Inside Film’ day at The Watershed this Saturday, April 8.
With talks from BBC, children’s television production company Drummer TV and Wildseed Studios, which specialises in animation production, attendees will be able to pick up top tips on breaking into the industry, getting work commissioned, working as a freelancer and making films on a budget.
Other highlights include a talk on the do’s and don’ts of production from a director, producer and camera trio from BristolCrew and the opportunity to try out virtual reality with the Oculus Rift and Gear VR headset and meet the pioneering filmmakers with this new format.
For just £4.50, 16 to 25 year olds get a day long – 11am to 7pm – pass giving them access to all the masterclasses, industry panels, short films and networking events.
The event is aimed at media students, YouTube enthusiasts, creative graduates, aspiring filmmakers or people who are simply passionate about film.
This day has been organised by the BFI Film Academy Bristol with support from BFI Future Film Festival, Encounters Short Film Festival, Random Acts South West and Rife magazine and guide.
