Construction work has started on a new development at Avonmouth which will bring more than 150,000 sq ft of much-needed industrial space to the area and create around 400 jobs.
Northampton-based property investor Barwood Capital and Trebor Developments, based in Birmingham, have secured detailed planning consent for Portside Park from Bristol City Council.
The speculative scheme is being developed in a single phase due to strong demand for high-quality accommodation in the area, according to join agents CBRE and Hartnell Taylor Cook.
Park on Kings Weston Lane is accessible from Junction 18 of the M5 and from Junction 1 of the M49 when it is opened later this year.
is also in a prime position for occupiers operating through or looking to locate close to businesses within the Port of Bristol.
The units will range in size from 12,500 sq ft to 87,247 sq ft.
Trebor Developments development director James Drew said: “Avonmouth is a key distribution location for the South West and the site is located in Bristol’s most established industrial area. Portside Park has great prominence and connectivity. We are delighted to see construction underway and progressing well.
“This adds to our 500,000 sq ft of industrial accommodation currently being developed in the South West.”
The units are due to be available for occupation in the first three months of next year.
