Award-winning producer Jonny Young has joined Bristol-based TV production company Icon Films as head of specialist factual.
With a strong track record of factual commissions and productions for national and international broadcasters such as the BBC, Discovery and Channel 4, Jonny, pictured, will now aim to build on Icon Films’ existing factual output with programmes aimed at the UK and international market. 
After working as a series producer for the BBC, specialising in documentaries and natural history shows, Young set up his own production company Oblong Films in 2010.
Oblong Films’ productions included The Naked Rambler on BBC One, Millionaire Boy Racers on Channel 4 and Britain’s Youngest Undertaker on BBC Three.
Jonny now joins Icon Films’ senior management team including managing director Laura Marshall, creative director Harry Marshall and commercial director Lucy Middelboe.
He said: “It’s a great time to be joining Icon to build on the company’s fantastic reputation for producing popular and engaging television.”
