Bristol-based specialist PR consultancy Distinctive Communications is celebrating adding a three new clients to its books.

The agency has joined the project team at The Underfall Yard Trust in Bristol to support its continued recovery from a fire which damaged the historic attraction and working boatyard last year.

The team worked with the charity on a voluntary basis after the blaze last May. Under the new arrangement, Distinctive will provide media, content and strategy support as restoration work gets underway.

Distinctive has also been commissioned by Community of Purpose, a community interest company (CIC) dedicated to transforming the lives and futures of young people in Bristol.

It will deliver a package of PR support, including devising a strategic PR plan, media relations and content creation.

Meanwhile, Distinctive’s campaigns team is working with Bath & North East Somerset Council to provide design and copywriting support for a bespoke strategy document for local carers and residents with caring responsibility.

The agency was launched in June 2022 by director Ben Lowndes, the former South West managing director of national PR firm Social, to work with place-makers, purposeful businesses and public bodies.

Ben said the account wins came during an important and exciting phase for the consultancy as it completes its second year in business.

“In supporting these clients, we build on our specialism of supporting place-makers and purposeful businesses,” he added.

“It’s brilliant to see our offers in these areas resonating and attracting interest as we build our presence.

“In an uncertain and highly competitive landscape, there has never been a more important time to communicate clearly and purposefully.”

The new client wins follow a successful six months for Distinctive during which it expanded into Exeter with the appointment of experienced PR professional Arianne Smart, started working with Bath-based specialist change management consultancy Nine Feet Tall and delivered a  public consultation campaign for Mendip Hills National Landscape on a proposed temporary road closure in Cheddar Gorge.

The consultation generated more than 1,700 responses and was highlighted nationally as an example of good practice.

The Distinctive team also includes content account manager Jasmine Gordon, graphic designer Stacey Broadbear and PR account manager Arianne Smart, pictured, above, with founder-director Ben Lowndes.
