Bristol PR and communications consultancy Speed topped three categories at a regional public relations industry awards ceremony earlier this week – including regaining the top accolade.

Speed, part of the international MISSION group of creative agencies, scooped the Large Consultancy of the Year title at the PRCA Dare Awards, having previously won it for three years between 2016 and 2019.

It also won the awards for Integrated Campaign of the Year for its work with drinks firm i heart Wines and B2B Campaign of the Year for its global work for filtered water dispensers  BRITA VIVREAU.

The Large Consultancy of the Year award recognised Speed’s “passionate focus” on redefining PR and demonstrating its value by showing unwavering determination to ensure that every piece of work makes a clear difference to its clients, their customers and the wider environment.

The award also credited the strength of Speed’s offer to its 40-strong team through its Balance employee programme, which ensures staff achieve the right balance in all aspects of work and home life.

It incorporates a range of guidance and benefits, including annual health checks, trained mental health first aiders, a health cash plan of £900 per employee, confidential 24/7 GP and counselling services, plus regular speakers on stress awareness, sleep management and nutrition.

Speed, which also has offices in London and Leicester, said its positive impact had been shown from team feedback, with 96% endorsing the agency’s positive work culture and 92% feeling fully supported.

Speed managing director Kelly Pepworth, pictured, said: “Being recognised by our peers and the industry means a huge amount.

“The team at Speed is passionate about their clients and the impact that PR can deliver, as demonstrated by the winning campaigns for BRITA and I heart Wines. And to be named Large Consultancy of the Year is a real honour.

“This award acknowledges not just our business success but the culture of Speed, our focus on innovation and creativity and how we are living our values every day in support of the team.”

Speed’s clients include national accountancy group Grant Thornton, asset finance firm Ultimate Finance and Pilgrims Choice cheese.

Other winners at the awards, which were held at Bristol’s M Shed, included Bristol and London agency Wild Card, which landed the Digital and Social Media Award for a campaign for Ginsters pasties and the Purpose Award for its work with Evergreen Miracle-Gro. MPC, which has an office in Bristol, won the Event/Launch of the Year category.

Other winners included Bath agencies Clearly PR (Professional of the Year, Team Culture and Community and Medium Consultancy of the Year) and Highlight PR (Consumer Relations and Small Consultancy of the Year).
