Budding musicians and music lovers from Bristol’s business community are invited to join the city’s best blues and jazz jam night next week.
Taking place at Harveys Cellars, Denmark Street, on the first Tuesday of every month, the event is a great opportunity for musicians of all standards – from beginners to highly-experienced – to jam with a talented house band and guest artists.
Harvey’s Bristol Blues and Jazz Jam, which is staged in association with Ujima Radio and Bristol Business News, kicked off its latest season in September and since then it has gone from strength to strength, attracting the cream of Bristol’s blues talent.
And as this next Tuesday’s session will be the last before Christmas it will have a suitably festive feel – no doubt with some seasonal blues and jazz standards thrown by the performers.
Ujima DJ Richard Levinge, who fronts the station’s Monday night Shades of the Blues show, will also play classic blues and soul.
The event is open to anyone who wishes to take part – whether they bring their own equipment or not – and each performer gets a free drink. The event lasts from 8pm until late.
