GVA Bristol surveyors gain their chartered status

Two surveyors at independent property adviser GVA’s Bristol office have passed their APC (Assessment of Professional Competence) exams following two years of study and professional training.

The APC, when added to full-time study and learning received at university, leads to RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) membership. It is the process by which RICS ensures an individual is competent to practice as a chartered surveyor.

Since joining GVA, Victoria Lane, 27, and Rob Moran, 25, pictured, have been studying for their professional exams, while gaining valuable work experience and training in the company.

Victoria joined GVA in 2010, having graduated from Cardiff University in geography and planning, and has achieved a masters’ degree in real estate management from UWE. Victoria specialises in property management.

Rob graduated in property management and investment from UWE and joined GVA two years ago. He specialises in property valuation.

GVA regional senior director David Mace said:  “As a firm we are fully committed to investing in training, and the on-going professional development of our staff.

“I am delighted for Victoria and Rob on qualifying as chartered surveyors.”

Some 15 out of 16 graduates from across GVA, the UK’s largest independent commercial property adviser, have passed their APC exams after completing the company’s graduate training programme – a pass rate of 94%. The successful GVA graduate programme recorded a similar pass rate for the last two RICS APC sittings, continuing to maintain an impressive success rate for the business.
