Engineers’ House, the Grade II-listed conference centre in Clifton, has been awarded a major industry accreditation.
The venue, pictured, built in 1831 but boasting the latest conference facilities, has achieved BDRC Continental VenueVerdict’s Gold Standard in recognition of its consistent outstanding customer service during 2012.
The standard, the scheme’s highest accreditation, has been presented to just 25 venues across the UK out of a possible 400. Engineers’ House is the only venue in Bristol to receive it.
The accreditation, secured by Engineers’ House just a year after it joined the scheme, is based on rigorous research conducted by BDRC Continental, the UK’s largest independent market research agency. Feedback was taken from 27,500 customer surveys and every week client satisfaction is measured to enable hotels and venues to manage feedback from their clients and to benchmark their own performance against other providers.
Engineers’ House venue manager Martyn Bowen said: “I am thrilled that Engineers’ House has already achieved the highest standard possible and our aim is to continue to exceed all clients’ expectations and continue to deliver fantastic customer service.”
Engineers’ House was built by Charles Dyer, a leading 19th century Bristol architect. Its most famous owner was Charles Pinney, Mayor during the Bristol riots of 1831.
