Vivid, the fast-growing Bristol content marketing agency, has been appointed by the GMB trade union to create its regionally segmented membership magazine.
The account was previously held for eight years by Bath-based publishing house Future – where Vivid’s four co-founders worked before setting up on their own just under a year ago.
Vivid, an innovative boutique content marketing agency, will work closely with the 630,000-member union to create the next phase of the magazine, which unifies its nine regions news into one cohesive, nationwide publication.
The magazine is segmented regionally via a 16-page outer section that enables each region to promote local news, events and targeted content to members in their area.
The 32-page title is produced three times a year and promotes the work of the union, representing the interests of members and raising awareness of key campaign issues, while maintaining hyper-relevant content across the regions.
Vivid’s first issue of GMB’s magazine is being delivered to members this month.
GMB head of communications Rose Conroy said: “The decision to move the magazine to Vivid was easy. Their member-engagement ideas, world-class content experience and knowledge of all comms channels provides GMB members a top-class magazine that looks and sounds even better. I need 100% reliability and I get that from the Vivid team.”
Vivid managing director Jayne Caple added: “We are delighted to be working with GMB – one of the UK’s largest and most influential trade unions. To win such a prestigious account on the eve of Vivid’s first birthday is the dream end to what’s been a breathless first year for Vivid. We can’t wait to engage with GMB’s members in the coming months.”
Co-founders Steve Hulbert, Sean Atkins, Jayne Caple and Rob Abbott have decades of experience between them – in their previous roles at Future they worked on a roster of international blue-chip brands including Sony, Tesco, O2, Virgin, Fender Guitars and Autotrader, as well as membership organisations such as The PFA, Musicians’ Union, and GMB Union.
