The Bristol office of international property and construction consultancy Gleeds has been appointed to project and cost manage the conversion of one of the city’s most iconic Georgian parades.

The six Grade II listed Georgian townhouses at 3-8 Redcliffe Parade West have been used as offices for many years and, along with a neighbouring office block, are now vacant.

Kent-based developer Change Real Estate and Bristol firm Cannon Family Office acquired the freehold of the 32,400 sq ft buildings, which overlook the Floating Harbour, for £4m at the end of last year.

Planning permission for 32 luxury apartments with off-road parking is now being sought with a view to starting refurbishment work by the end of this year.

Gleeds will manage project design and procurement, helping appoint local contractors for the construction works.

Gleeds director Terry Langdon said: “It’s wonderful to see new investments being made in the Redcliffe area and we’re particularly looking forward to seeing the empty properties on Parade West being put to good use once again.”

The scheme is the third development site acquired by Change Real Estate in the area over the past 18 months.

Change Real Estate director Ron Persaud said: “The Redcliffe area is undergoing a renaissance, from the Bristol General Hospital redevelopment through to Redcliff Square. This is an exciting acquisition for Change Real Estate in the heart of an historic corner of Bristol.”

Gleeds has worked in Bristol since 1927 and has been involved in some of the city centre’s most iconic construction projects including Harbourside and Temple Quay.
