London-headquartered TV post-production company Evolutions has opened its third office in Bristol just four years after setting up its first base in the city.
The combined office at 1 and 2 St Paul’s Road in Clifton will provide additional capacity for the thriving business and follows last year’s acquisition of highly-regarded Bristol post-production house Big Bang.
The 3,000 sq ft office in St Paul’s Road complements Evolution’s two bases in nearby Whiteladies Road.
Evolutions is one of the largest independent full-service post production companies in London’s Soho and also one of Clifton’s fastest-growing businesses.
Its diverse credit list includes QI, TOWIE, Tipping Point and The Apprentice and almost every fixed rig show on the air, such as 24 Hours in Police Custody, One Born Every Minute and Secret Life of 4 Year Olds.
Big Bang’s picture editing and finishing equipment and infrastructure, its on-going work and all 14 of its full-time staff became part of Evolutions Bristol team last year.
Founded by Tim Bolt in 2004, Big Bang Post Production specialised in providing picture editing and finishing services to natural history, factual, arts and children’s productions including Earth’s Greatest Spectacles (BBC2), Gorilla Family and Me (BBC2), Britain’s Outlaws (BBC4) and Harvest 2015 (BBC2).
Evolutions managing director Simon Kanjee said: “When it became clear that there was an opportunity to add the skills and expertise of Tim and his team to Evolutions Bristol we jumped at it.
The Big Bang deal provided continuity for staff, clients and projects, adds significant talent to Evolutions Bristol’s already extensive capabilities and widened our remit to include natural history programming. It’s a great conclusion for everyone.”
Andy Smith of property consultants Knight Frank advised Evolutions on the acquisition of the 2,035 sq ft Victorian villa at 38 Whiteladies Road and leased to it 11,000 sq ft office at 11-13 Whiteladies Road.
He said: “Evolutions is a major Bristol success story and we were delighted to help the company expand in Clifton once again.”
