Free workshops on offer to innovative high-growth start-ups

Ambitious start-up businesses hoping to turn over £500,000-plus in their first three years of trading are being invited to take part in free high-growth start-up workshops

The events, staged by North Somerset Enterprise Agency in partnership with Business West, run from 9.15am to 4pm on February 21 and March 29 at its offices in Oldmixon Crescent, Weston-super-Mare.

The workshops are part of three high-growth business services offered by the local business support organisations. Starting a high-growth business, Coaching for high growth and Understanding finance for business are funded by the European Regional Development Fund, so are free to participating businesses.

To qualify, businesses must be starting up or less than a year old and have the right attitude or innovation, such as a new product, service of concept, to achieve fast growth.

North Somerset Enterprise Agency chief executive Angela Hicks said: “Each of the services delivers one-to-one assistance through more than 100 of the top independent business coaches in our region.

“Growth businesses can benefit from their extensive boardroom experience and a carefully-planned combination of advice, workshops, business strategy and finance guidance, with support being long-term and tailored to the exact requirements of each participating business.”
