Lawyers from international legal firm Osborne Clarke’s Bristol office have advised on the multi-million pound acquisition of a four-star London hotel.
The team worked with Dalata Hotel Group on its £53.4m purchase of the Apex Hotel London Wall, pictured, from Apex Hotels.
The 89-bedroom hotel, with a gym, ground floor lobby, restaurant and bar in the heart of the City, will be rebranded as Clayton Hotel London Wall.
It is the fifth London property for Dalata, Ireland’s largest hotel operator, and will bring its total number of bedrooms in the capital to 877 once Maldron Hotel Finsbury Park starts trading this month and Maldron Hotel Shoreditch opens next year.
Osborne Clarke also advised Dalata on these sites.
Dalata operates 11 Clayton hotels – including the 225-bedroom Clayton Hotel Bristol City, which opened last year – and five Maldron hotels in the UK.
Apex has two other hotels in London along with three in Edinburgh and one each in Bath, Glasgow and Dundee.
The Osborne Clarke team was led by real estate partner Nick Simpson and included tax partner Tracey Wright, pictured, real estate senior associate Emma Hannah, corporate real estate partner Alison Riddle, tax associate director Alex Makinson, employment partner Danielle Kingdon and senior associate Carla O’Neill.
Osborne Clarke is a recognised industry leader in the built environment providing a comprehensive lifecycle service and advising major real estate industry organisations, ranging from developers and investors to property funds and corporate occupiers.
The firm employs more than 770 people in its Bristol office.
