Accountancy and business advisory firm BDO has appointed Matthew Sewell as a tax partner in its Bristol office.
Matthew, pictured, joins the firm following 10 years at rival RSM’s Bristol office where, over a period of 10 years, he held a number of senior positions, most recently tax partner. Before that he worked for EY, Robson Taylor and Jordans.
BDO said he would bring vast experience to his new role, having advised a wide range of fast-growing and multinational businesses in the South West.
He will focus on offering international tax services and supporting in-house finance and tax functions.
Matthew said: “I am really looking forward to continuing to advise and support businesses in the South West. It is an exciting time to join BDO just three months after the merger with Moore Stephens and I can’t wait to see the team continue to grow.”
BDO partner and Bristol office head Andrea Bishop said: “Matthew will be an invaluable addition to our team as it continues to grow, contributing substantial, multi-sector expertise to advise clients as they navigate complex challenges and achieve their goals.”
BDO announced its merger with Moore Stephens in February, making it the UK’s number one accountancy and advisory firm focused on entrepreneurially spirited mid-sized businesses.
Since the start of this year the firm has appointed 10 new partners across its London and regional offices.
