The Bristol office of accountancy firm BDO has appointed former KPMG audit partner Tony Antonius as a director in its audit team as it reinforces its commitment to the Bristol and South West market.
Tony, pictured, worked at KPMG in Bristol for 34 years before becoming a consultant and then joining Somerset accountants Albert Goodman, where he worked for just over a year.
Tony specialises in working with mid-market clients, including AIM-listed businesses and fast-growing, privately-owned firms.
His experience spans a wide number of sectors including support services, transport and logistics, food and drink, leisure and tourism, automotive, retail, professional practices and media.
He is now working with BDO clients across the South West with a particular focus on mid-market businesses – a key priority for BDO.
The firm has also made a number of promotions in its audit and tax departments. In audit, Rosie Peat and Harriet Richards have been promoted to manager, with Alan Sanders and Hannah Cook becoming assistant managers.
In tax, Jade Hall has been promoted to director of international VAT services and Nicola Edwards to senior manager for private client services.
BDO Bristol office head Andrea Bishop said: “The arrival of a new audit director, along with the significant recruitment and promotions activity, further demonstrates BDO’s desire to expand on its position as one of the leading firms providing audit and tax services in the local marketplace. It is an exciting time for the office.”
