Regional law firm Foot Anstey has advised Weston College on its sponsorship of Weston-super-Mare primary school Herons’ Moor Academy through its Inspirational Futures Trust.
The academy has joined the multi-academy trust set in a move that further strengthens the links between key education institutions in North Somerset.
The trust was set up by Weston College to raise aspirations and offer inclusive learning at all levels. Under the guidance of Weston College, it also encompasses North Somerset Enterprise and Technology College, a new academy school that specialises in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) for 14-19 year olds in the area.
Foot Anstey partner James Evans said: “This is the latest step in what is an exciting period of development for the college and the trust. It will undoubtedly enhance further the learning opportunities being provided at Herons’ Moor.”
Weston College principal and chief executive Dr Paul Phillips OBE added: “This agreement will bring more children into a system designed to realise and exceed their potential in terms of educational achievement, progression and future careers. We are very pleased with the level of support we have had from Foot Anstey to make it happen.”
Earlier this year, Weston College worked with Foot Anstey to develop a bespoke and groundbreaking apprenticeship scheme enabling a new career path into the legal profession.
