Ways of making sure the built environment achieves net zero – including lessons learnt from a pioneering Bristol housing scheme – are to be explored at a virtual event staged next week by the city office of national law firm Foot Anstey in partnership with Innovate UK.
The event, between 10.30am and midday on Thursday, February 17, will bringing together an array of experts to explore experiences and approaches in reviewing and analysing net zero trends and what they predict as pinch points over the next few years.
It will be chaired by Bristol-based Foot Anstey partner and head of energy & infrastructure Ian Stubbs, supported by managing associate Suriya Edwards and solicitors, Ross Sellman-Leava and Liam Henderson – all also based in the firm’s Bristol office.
Attendees will hear from speakers who are leading the way in net zero as part of a discussion focused on sustainability trends in the construction industry.
Among the panellists will be Dr Rehan Khodabuccus, operations director at ZED PODS.
The London-based modular housing firm was behind the Hope Rise scheme on Chalks Road in St George, pictured – the UK’s first purpose-built scheme using modern methods of construction and now seen as an exemplar development.
Joining Dr Khodabuccus will be:
- Chinyelu Oranefo – Lloyds Bank director, sustainability & ESG finance, who will be discussing net zero from a funder’s perspective,
- Ben Gholam - structural engineer at Price & Myers,
- Becky Annison - director of engagement at Chancery Lane Project
- Heather Evans – associate, national head of sustainability, at Rider Levett Bucknall.
Suriya Edwards said: “Our event will bring together the very best in the industry to discuss the latest Net Zero developments.
“As well as a dynamic panel discussion, the Q&A session will enable anyone to ask the burning questions they might have on the topic.”
