Regional law firm Foot Anstey, which has an office in Bristol, has continued its investment in developing lawyers of the future by appointing 12 new trainee solicitors.
The move takes the number on its training programme to 24. The new joiners each commence a two-year training contract with the firm during which they will work in at least six areas of the law, with ongoing expert guidance from leading Foot Anstey partners and lawyers.
Lex 100, the student guide to law, has described Foot Anstey as a firm with an ‘entrepreneurial spirit, social colleagues and high-quality cases’.
Foot Anstey also ranked highly in Lex 100 in terms of quality of training and the type of work trainees are given.
In addition to their legal training, the new trainees will play a key role in the firm’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy by driving activity across the firm’s network of offices across the South West.
HR director Ramsey Mirza said: “We have consistently increased investment in our trainee programme over the past three years to ensure that the next generation of Foot Anstey lawyers are given top class training and the opportunity to see how our nationally acclaimed experts support the ambitions of our clients.”
The firm recently relocated its Bristol base from 100 Victoria Street to a 17,000 sq ft showpiece office at 2 Glass Wharf, which is enabling it to introduce new ways of working.
Foot Anstey employs more than 500 people across its seven offices, with the most recent office opening in Southampton in September last year.
