Bristol-based serviced apartment company SACO, which has grown rapidly in the UK since launching with just one venue 14 years ago, is opening its first overseas office in the US.
The company has become one of the UK’s market-leading brands in the accommodation sector. Last year it opened its 30th UK location, tripled its number of sites in London to 13, and appointed its 150th employee.
Its first overseas office, in Westport, Connecticut, about 50 miles from New York, will support clients travelling to the US as well as aiming to attract more US visitors to the UK.
SACO founder and chief executive Lesley Freed said: “After 14 years building a market leading brand for serviced apartments in the UK, it makes sense for us to expand overseas. The US is a natural starting point for both business and leisure travel, with more than 4m night stays and nearly 700,000 visitors for business travel alone in 2010. With an office in the US we’ll be able to directly market our extensive and high-quality apartments for our US clients coming to London or visiting anywhere in the UK.”
US office manager John Murray added: “Serviced apartments are a popular option for Americans travelling to the UK on business and for vacations and it’s great to be able to offer such a high quality product to our clients.”
SACO's latest UK location is Trinity Tower in London's Canary Wharf. It features 50, one, two and three-bedroom serviced apartments while also offering one of the only developments in the area with full reception facilities and use of 24/7 concierge service.
