Bristol law firm Barcan+Kirby has strengthened and expanded its corporate and commercial department with the appointment of Nic Barker as its first-ever legal director.
Corporate solicitor Nic, pictured, specialises in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) with a focus on owner-managed businesses.
She originally trained and worked in London as a solicitor before taking time out of the law to run her own business.
She returned to Bristol in 2019 to work as a finance and corporate lawyer with Shakespeare Martineau.
Nic is now working from Barcan+Kirby’s Bristol city centre office alongside partners Georgina Bryant and Robert Davenport.
The team has doubled in size over the past year due to growth and with Nic’s expertise, the firm are looking forward to the future.
Nic said: “I am looking forward to working with the team at Barcan+Kirby and getting to know the firm’s clients and their businesses. There is a great team spirit, and I am sure we will go from strength to strength”
The legal director role recognises Nic’s excellent level of skill and breadth of experience as a Senior Corporate Lawyer advising in the mid-market space.
Barcan+Kirby, which has five offices across Bristol and South Gloucestershire, supplies a comprehensive range of legal services ranging from corporate & commercial and employment to family and medical negligence.
