The Bristol Bears Community Foundation has launched its 2025 charity tag rugby tournament, giving firms the chance to put commercial rivalries to one side and raise much-needed funds for its inspiring programme.

Supported this year by headline sponsor, office design and fit out firm Morgan Lovell. the annual event not only brings in money for the foundation but also offers a unique opportunity for Bristol and South West businesses to come together by playing rugby and having fun while also making a positive impact.

A series of preliminary rounds in March and April are held at Lockleaze Sports Centre before the top four teams compete in a grand final, hosted at Ashton Gate Stadium.

The total raised by the tournament has grown every year, with £3,000 in 2022, £16,000 in 2023 and a staggering £22,000 last year.

The foundation – which supports communities across in the South West through programmes tackling education, participation, health, and inclusion – is keen to make 2025’s event bigger and better than ever.

Already signed up to take part are Method Consulting, Silverback Films, Bishop Fleming, Spratley & Partners, Hollis, Thrings, Morgan Lovell, CBRE, Ridge & Partners, Albert Goodman, PureComms, Origin Workspace, Orangebox, Samsun Construction, Johnson & Johnson, AWW/Gleeds, RSM, Turley and Workman.

Lockleaze Sports Centre managing director Craig Capel described the tournament as a fantastic way for businesses to come together, enjoy themselves and contribute to a great cause.

“We’re excited to see more teams join us this year and help make a real difference in the community,” he said.

Bristol Bears Foundation Ambassador Sulli Gardner added: “The Tag Rugby Tournament is a brilliant event – it’s all about having fun, meeting other local businesses, and supporting the foundation’s work with young people. We encourage teams to sign up and be part of something special.”

While team entries are now closed for this year, the foundation is still accepting donations and further sponsorships. Contact The Bristol Bears Community Foundation to find out more at https://www.bristolbearsrugby.com/bears-foundation/
