Bristol’s growing reputation as a centre for financial technology (fintech) has attracted a major industry event to the city.
Bristol FinTech 2016 will take place in November and will be hosted by national law firm Clarke Willmott’s office in the city.
The firm announced the event today with partner Cheshire investment firm Deepbridge Capital as London FinTech Week drew to a close.
Clarke Willmott said the move showed that the financial technology revolution was not just happening in the nation’s capital.
Bristol is viewed as a hub of innovation and creativity with a host of new start-ups and established financial technology companies based in the area.
Clarke Willmott partner Philippa Hann, pictured, said: “We are delighted to be hosting the Bristol FinTech 2016 event and are keen to show off the best that the fintech industry has to offer in the South West.
“The fintech revolution is growing quickly and really has the potential to create positive change throughout the finance sector.
“With the launch of Bristol FinTech, we hope to bring together the numerous exciting companies in the region to share ideas and to engage in our burgeoning fintech community.”
Bristol Fintech 2016 will be hosted by Clarke Willmott, Deepbridge Capital and further event partners at the firm’s Bristol offices on November 23. The event will include keynote speakers and breakout sessions as well as technology demonstrations.
