Bristol-based R&D tax credit consultancy ForrestBrown is celebrating two significant milestones – reaching its fifth birthday and planting 4,500 trees through its partnership with TREE AID.
The fast-growing firm was formed in 2013 by managing director Simon Brown, who left the corporate world of the ‘big four’ accountancy firms after identifying an exciting opportunity for UK businesses.
The award-winning consultancy helps predominantly SME clients gain access to government funding designed to reward and incentivise innovative companies.
ForrestBrown now employs more than 80 full-time staff, and average year-on-year revenue growth is over 90%. Its own success has been synonymous with that of its clients, securing at least £60m of funding for innovative businesses in the South West to date.
ForrestBrown has partnered with fellow Bristol-based organisation TREE AID to create ForrestBrown’s forest in a fitting nod to the company’s name.
To celebrate the ongoing success of the business, and to give something back, ForrestBrown has planted a tree in Africa through TREE AID for every R&D tax credit claim its team completes. Figuratively, the forest now stands at 4,500 trees.
ForrestBrown’s forest works on the principle that a tree can become the lifeline to help families in Africa out of extreme poverty and hunger. Villagers are trained in how to sustainably harvest the trees, providing produce that can be eaten or sold.
Simon Brown said: “Reaching our fifth birthday is a landmark occasion for ForrestBrown. In that time, we’ve grown the team to more than 80-strong and have also won 15 awards for the quality of our work. We’re delighted to be supporting TREE AID to give something back in addition to the value we bring to our clients. I am incredibly excited about what the future holds.
