Global professional services network Forvis Mazars has appointed Jon Marchant as managing partner for its Bristol office.
Jon, pictured, will be responsible for developing the firm’s business strategy in Bristol, with a key focus for the team being to continue to grow its mid-market and public interest entity audit offering.
The office is also aiming to expand its private client services, to further support businesses and individuals in the region and give them access to everything they need under one roof.
Jon takes over as Bristol office managing partner from Amy Reynolds, who remains in the firm but is stepping aside after four and a half years in the role to focus on other responsibilities.
Jon joined the firm – then Mazars – in 2014 as a director, becoming an audit partner four years later.
Currently leading Forvis Mazars’ mid-market audit team in the South West, he has more than 25 years’ experience auditing and advising organisations of all sizes and across a number of sectors, including manufacturing, technology and retail.
He is particularly experienced at delivering cross border group audit assignments and works with many international groups.
Prior to joining Forvis Mazars he was a director at regional accountancy firm Hazlewoods and also spent 13-and-a-half years at Grant Thornton.
While he has spent the vast majority of his career in the South West, he also worked in Canada and the US, meaning he is well-placed to develop the extensive transatlantic opportunities for the firm in the region.
He said: “It is a great honour to be entrusted with continuing our office’s successes which we have seen in recent years.
“It’s an exciting time as we look to expand both our team and offering, alongside taking advantage of the new benefits coming from our new global network, which gives us a real opportunity to demonstrate our unique offering to clients in the region.”
Forvis Mazars’ South West offices, which also include Poole and Gloucester, have enjoyed strong trading over recent years, with double-digit revenue growth in 2022-23.
The firm has also recently made a number of promotions in its Bristol office at director and manager levels and its across audit and private client teams, including Matthew Finch, who has been made a director in its business services team.
As part of plans to further expand the office’s offering while nurturing future talent, the firm recently welcomed 14 early careers hires, including graduate, school leaver and placement students.
Forvis Mazars was formed in June by Mazars, the international audit, tax, and advisory firm operating in 100 countries worldwide, and FORVIS, a top-ranked US firm.
