A Bristol food tour company that stages bespoke experiences for businesses to impress their clients in city centre eateries is expanding into Somerset.

GOOD: Stories in Food’s afternoon ‘hidden gem’ tours have developed a reputation for providing a unique and memorable way to thank clients.

From burgers to cocktails, cake to wine, the 3.5-hour tours take in the flavours and stories of some of the city centre’s most popular venues and best-kept secrets.

The firm also stages Saturday afternoon public tours that give foodies the chance to sample some of the city’s best independent food and drink.

Now GOOD: Stories in Food’s has added day trips into the Somerset countryside to showcase the best of the county’s food and drink.

These include cheese-and-wine tours and team-building workshops and will also encourage an interest in sustainability.

GOOD: Stories in Food founder Florence Pardoe, pictured, has been working in the food sector for more than a decade with a focus on local and sustainable food systems, as well as education and communication.

She originally came to Bristol to study zoology at university but later became interested in palm oil – its widespread use in foods and the fact that it is a major driver of deforestation in some of the world’s most biodiverse forests.

Florence said: “I’m passionate about excellent food and drink and thinking about how we can produce this is such a way that is nourishing for our souls and our planet.

“I’m so excited to share these fantastic stories and flavours and to share my knowledge and passion about food, farming and flavour.

“At GOOD, we specialise in crafting a bespoke food and drink experience perfectly suited to businesses and their teams.

“Our bespoke experiences are perfect for client entertainment, providing a unique and memorable way to impress or thank clients.”

The new, day-long Somerset experiences take in vineyards, cheesemakers, market gardens and cider orchards, with transport from Bristol included.

Collaborations with a range of restaurants tucked away in the county’s scenic valleys also mean stunning lunch stops.

Florence added: “Our tailored experiences offer an exclusive journey through the best of our local, independent and ethical food scene, including wine and cheese tastings in stunning, century-old wine cellars, private dining with a whiskey tasting to finish, and much more.

“We can work with businesses to tailor the experience to their budget and the interests of their clients or provide them with a selection of our favourite set options.”

GOOD: Stories in Food also stages workshops “to empower teams with practical skills and knowledge about sustainable food systems”.

These range from farm-to-table insights to cooking classes with renowned chefs and are guaranteed to leave attendees inspired and informed, Florence said.
