Mike Beesley, CEO of Bristol-based recruitment firm Resource Solutions Group (RSG), is in the running for one of the UK’s most prestigious business awards.
Mike, pictured, who joined RSG in 1980 and has helped transform it into the UK’s largest privately owned recruitment business, has been named as a regional finalist in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2016. 
He joins 37 other business leaders in the London & South final of the awards.
Together, these finalists employ more than 9,000 people and run businesses turning over more than £2.3bn.
RSG employs 200 people and last year surpassed its target to reach a turnover of £240m.
It also opened offices in Dublin, Munich and Amsterdam last year as it continued to roll out its Sanderson brand across Europe. In the UK it extended its network with a new office in Reading – taking its total number of sites to nine, including its headquarters in Clifton Down.
RSG chief executive Mike Beesley described the year as one of the best since the business started under the Resource Solutions Group name in 1975.
Another highlight was jumping 15 places on the prestigious Sunday Times Fast Track 250 list.
Mike is also became chair of the Prince’s Trust South West Leadership Group.
Winners from the regional finals in Scotland, North of England, Midlands and London & South go on to vie for the title of EY Entrepreneur Of The Year UK 2016 overall winner, at a ceremony in London in October and the chance to represent the UK at EY’s World Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards in Monte Carlo in 2017.
Now in its 18th year in the UK, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year recognises the spirit and contribution of exceptional entrepreneurs.
