Entrepreneur and Dragon’s Den panel regular Deborah Meaden will speak about doing business in the West of England this evening when she appears at an event in support of the Bristol’s Above & Beyond’s £6m Golden Gift appeal.
Deborah will talk to Dave Harvey, the BBC’s West of England business correspondent, about her experience starting out and the lessons learnt and what it takes to succeed.
Hugely passionate about both business and the West County, Deborah has a wealth of knowledge to share. She set up her first business at the age of 19, before running a number of companies in the South West, including Weststar Holidays where she led a management buyout, ultimately selling the company in a deal worth £83m-plus.
This evening’s event to an invited audience of business figures and Above & Beyond supporters takes place at Bristol’s M Shed.
All proceeds from the evening will help transform two of the South West’s most important hospitals: Bristol’s Cancer Centre and the Bristol Royal Infirmary.
Some £6m is being sought through Above & Beyond’s Golden Gift appeal to transform them by ensuring they have state-of-the-art facilities and equipment that is above and beyond what the NHS can provide.
