Bristol businesses can make sure they are up to date on the latest trends in digital next week at a series of free events.
Digital Bristol Week takes place in venues across the city over five days with digital art installations and film screenings, business seminars, exhibitions and workshops – each aiming to inform, educate and enlighten.
The events will be staged by a partnership of key city stakeholders, such as Business West, BBC Academy, University of Bristol and Knowle West Media Centre, each of the 40 events are free of charge to attend.
Skills West – an initiative of Business West and the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and also a local champion of skills development for the digital economy – will host workshops, open days and seminars to help young people and businesses get their digital knowledge up to speed and learn new skills.
One of the main draws for businesses will be Google’s Digital Garage at the Engine Shed on Friday (October 20).
Building on Business West’s work across the region in helping local businesses to embrace the digital age, Skills West identified a growing skills gap among local businesses and decided to invite Google to help Bristol’s businesses start making the most of the opportunities online.
In the first event of its kind in the city, experts from Google will help local businesses:
- Use Google Analytics to better understand who is visiting their website
- Perform well on Google Search and understand how advertising and analytics can boost your visibility to customers
- Keep aware of potential cyber threats and prevent your business being compromised online
Businesses and individuals attending the Google Digital Garage events also have the opportunity to receive an official Google certification.
Spaces for the Google Digital Garage events are limited.
