Accountancy group Deloitte has appointed Lizzie Hill as its new practice senior partner for South West and Wales – the first woman to hold the role.
Lizzie, pictured with former regional practice senior partner Martyn Gregory, is a a tax partner specialising in advising privately owned businesses and a member of the Deloitte Private executive group in the UK.
She brings more than 20 years’ experience of supporting privately owned companies and has also been instrumental in growing Deloitte Private in the South West and Wales.
She takes over from Martyn Gregory, who has been appointed UK M&A lead partner but remains in the South West as he is continuing as financial advisory lead.
Martyn was South West and Wales practice senior partner for nearly 10 years and was the driving force in the growth of Deloitte’s practice in the region during this period, including making three transformational acquisitions.
Its team in the region now numbers more than 2,000 professionals demonstrating a huge breadth of talent and expertise.
Lizzie said she was thrilled to take on the role of leading Deloitte’s South West and Wales practice.
“The South West is renowned for innovation and technology – a place where traditional industries collaborate with thriving creative, digital and tech sectors,” she added.
“It’s an amazing place to live and work. As a firm, we have exciting plans to grow in the region and I’m looking forward to meeting even more of the fantastic individuals and businesses that call this beautiful part of the country their home.

She said the firm was doing this not only through its Five Million Futures programme, which aims to overcome barriers to education and employment for young people around the world, but also by fostering an inclusive, diverse and happy work environment within the business where all individuals can thrive.
Deloitte partner and head of regions Dan Barlow described Lizzie as a fantastic addition to the senior partner team.
“Her knowledge of the region and the clients within it is extensive, as is her understanding of the firm. I know that under her leadership, the South West and Wales practice will continue to flourish,” he added.
