Regional law firm Wards Solicitors has appointed criminal defence solicitor Maxine Twynam to its criminal team.
Maxine, pictured, qualified in 2004 and has experience in advising and representing people accused of criminal offences from driving matters to serious allegations, including sexual offences, fraud and murder. She joins Wards from Devon firm Boyle Tricks Leonard.
She has also worked as a legal adviser to HM Courts & Tribunals Service and as a freelance solicitor.
She will work in Wards’ Bristol office alongside partner Michael Gupwell, who is also highly experienced in criminal defence cases.
Maxine said: “I am delighted to be joining Wards am looking forward to working within a multi-disciplinary practice, which is very client focused.”
Wards head of disputes Elizabeth Fry said Maxine’s appointment marked the ongoing development and expansion of the firm’s criminal defence practice.

Wards Solicitors employs more than 75 legal specialists, including 37 at partner level, across its 12 offices in and around Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
