Enable Law, the Bristol-headquartered specialist legal practice, has recruited Stewart Young as a legal director in its clinical negligence team.
He will join from London litigation specialist law firm Stewarts, where he specialises in clinical negligence claims involving catastrophic injury.
Stewart, pictured, has a background in healthcare disputes having previously acted for several healthcare regulators, including the General Medical Council.
Enable Law, which specialises in personal injury and clinical negligence and is part of South West law firm Foot Anstey, described Stewart as an “industry heavyweight” who would bring a wealth of experience with him.
An accredited senior litigator of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and a member of the charity Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA), he has significant knowledge in bringing complex maximum severity claims to the High Court in London and has acted for individuals in a variety of cases, including spinal, brain injury, birth injury, blindness, psychiatric, fatal and delay in diagnosis of severe sepsis cases.
Stewart said: “I am excited to embark on this new challenge with Enable Law. The firm has gone from strength to strength in recent years and is well known for its specialist approach to complex matters. I am looking forward to meeting the team and getting stuck in.”
Enable Law partner Alison McClure added: “We are thrilled to welcome Stewart to the team. Stewart has a long history of working within the clinical negligence legal field and has a proven track record of acting in the client’s best interest in all his cases.
“His experience is second-to-none and we look forward to seeing what he will bring to us at Enable Law.”
