McCann Bristol senior account director Sylvie Pender has joined an exclusive list of leading public relations professionals after being awarded Chartered Practitioner status.
The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) awards chartered status to senior professionals who demonstrate an outstanding level of professional practice in ethics, strategy and leadership, along with a commitment to continuous learning.
Sylvie, pictured, has become one of just 167 other chartered public relations practitioners in achieving the status in an industry employing around 83,000 across the UK.
Having worked in Bristol’s public relations industry for more than 16 years, Sylvie has always been a committed and active member of the PR community in the region.
She served the West of England CIPR committee as secretary from 2005 until 2013 and won a gold award for her ‘outstanding contribution’ to CIPR West of England at the West of England Pride Awards in 2012.
Sylvie has worked at McCann Bristol since 2010 on a diverse range of consumer, business and corporate communications clients. She previously worked for Bristol PR agencies JBP, Clear Communications and Corixa.
McCann Bristol head of PR Patrick Fraser said: “Sylvie has always been a fantastic and hardworking member of the PR team, whose wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for her profession has made an impression with clients and colleagues alike.
“We’re immensely proud of her for this latest recognition, which she thoroughly deserves. Chartered status is not awarded lightly, and this accolade is testament to Sylvie’s relentless work ethic and her constant drive to learn.”
McCann Bristol, part of the giant McCann Worldgroup, employs 55 people in its Redcliff Street office.
