Businesses and individuals working in the sustainability sector will be able to get an update on Bristol’s pioneering City Leap project at an event next week.

Bristol City Council aims to bring in potential partners from across the world to help the city become carbon neutral by 2050. It is looking to attract investment of up to £1bn in the city’s energy infrastructure over the next decade. It has produced a prospectus outlining energy and infrastructure investment opportunities available to local, national and international businesses.

Bristol City Council’s Energy Services will deliver an update on the ambitious project at Bristol Green Capital Partnership’s monthly Green Mingle next Thursday.

Green Mingles are free monthly events for anyone working, volunteering or interested in achieving a more sustainable Bristol. They offer an opportunity to learn more about innovative projects, make connections and share ideas in an informal setting – with nibbles and drinks.

They take place between 5.30pm and 7.30pm at The Kitchen, Silver Street, Broadmead. There is no need to book a place, everyone is welcome.

Speaking about City Leap on Thursday will be Bristol City Council head of energy services David White and James Sterling, senior marketing and communications officer for Bristol City Council’s Energy Service.

The deadline for expressions of interest in the City Leap is August 31.
