Staff from national property agency CBRE’s Bristol office rowed for 50km in under four hours as part of the firm’s #Row50 challenge to raise money for charity partner Shelter.

Three teams of five competed against each other – and teams from CBRE’s 15 other UK offices – to complete the challenge on rowing machines supplied by Clifton’s Nuffield Health.

The winning team, Bristol Professional, completed the distance in just three hours and 34 minutes. So far, the Bristol office has raised almost £250 – contributing to a national total of £8,000.

In 2015 CBRE UK announced a two-year partnership with Shelter to raise £500,000, which it has already achieved.

In August it announced an extension of the partnership to 2018 and pledged to raise £1m.

Head of CBRE’s Bristol office Garry Hicks said: “Everyone who competed has shown great teamwork and dedication in the name of such an important cause.

“With the winning team achieving such an impressive time, we’re confident our rowers are among the fastest CBRE teams in the country.”

As well as providing the machines, Nuffield Health also offered CBRE staff free ‘health MOTs’ in exchange for donations while Bristol-based café group Friska provided the refreshments.
