Osborne Clarke, the international legal practice with its roots in Bristol, has pushed its annual UK revenues above £100m for the first time.
The firm, which has 700 lawyers in 20 international offices, increased UK income by 17% from £96.5m in 2015 to £112.9m. Global revenues were up 23% to€236.3m (£186.2m) following a period of investment in its international operations.
During the year Osborne Clarke, which has offices at the heart of Silicon Valley in Palo Alto and in San Francisco and New York, secured Google Ventures as a new client and advised on its lead role in the funding of music publishing firm Kobalt Music.
It now represents some of the most exciting start-up companies as well as many of the world’s leading technology companies such as Facebook and GoPro.
Internationally it also advised real estate private equity firm Niam on the close of its €800m Nordic property fund – the largest fund of its kind – and made a further 13 lateral partner hires and six partnership promotions.
In the UK it acted for long-standing client Student Castle on the sale of a £330m portfolio of student accommodation and advised leading independent infrastructure and private equity investment manager Foresight Group on more than 25 acquisitions worth £300m.
