Bristol has today been named as a ‘super-city’ that fosters the right environment for growth pioneers to prosper.
The report by HSBC shows that behind the economic doom and gloom there are visionary business leaders across the country who are trailblazing their way to growth – and Bristol is identified as one of the hot spots.
HSBC’s regional commercial director Gary Burton said: “Bristol has been identified as inspiring a collaboration between industry, academia and Government to create a dynamic centre of specialist innovation and creativity that has a positive catalyst effect regionally, nationally, and even globally.
“The city is creating exactly the right environment needed to harbour the talents of these growth pioneers and we are working with businesses across the region to maximise growth both at home and overseas.”
Identified as ‘Growth Pioneers’, these inspired individuals are taking control of the future of British business and steering the country towards recovery, according to the Growing British Business report.
Fostering legendary British grit and adopting clever business strategies to prosper despite the downturn, these companies are capitalising on emerging ‘Beacons of Hope’ with 60% expecting to grow in the next two years.
Saying they are innovating and diversifying, rethinking their domestic opportunities and product markets, investing in staff, focusing on new international markets and using smart finance tools to turn order books into instant liquidity, the Growth Pioneers have clear and specific plans to fulfil their expansion targets.
