Pensions experts at Bristol-headquartered national law firm Burges Salmon have been shortlisted in four categories of a new industry awards scheme, including for team of the year.
The inaugural PMI Pinnacle Awards 2022 are being staged by the Pensions Management Institute (PMI) to celebrate the people and new ideas that “make a real impact in the pensions world”.
They are designed to celebrate excellence in the pensions industry with 13 awards under the three headings of ‘people, innovation and impact’.
Burges Salmon has been nominated in the categories of:
- Impact on society – Promoting diversity & inclusion and improving social mobility. This award celebrates the very best and most impactful initiatives which have made a significant contribution to wider society. The category recognises organisations, individuals or teams creating positive and tangible social value through excellent pensions practices or as part of a social responsibility initiative.
- Impact on Climate – Firmwide environmental initiative. Corporate behaviour in and around operations, from energy efficiency and waste management, to recycling and reduction in the use of non-sustainable plastics, can reduce emissions. This award showcases the positive action taking place in the industry.
- Innovation in new product or service – Pension schemes act triage tool. Celebrating innovative products and services which have become game changers and highlight progress in this arena, this award recognises the stand-out product, or service, which, through its development and utilisation, has had the most positive impact on pensions provision.
- Team of the year. This category recognises outstanding teams within the pensions sector, a strategic partner or a supplier to it, that have together achieved remarkable accomplishments for the benefit of the organisation, stakeholders, or scheme members.
Burges Salmon’s pensions team has been widely respected across the UK with leading clients for almost 30 years.
The firm says it has a unique model and collaborative culture that ensures its pension lawyers are focused on delivering the highest quality of advice and service to clients.

“It’s great to see that these efforts and the combined success of the team in the past year has been recognised by the shortlistings in the PMI Pinnacle Awards.”
