A commitment to supporting the female leaders of today and tomorrow has earned Bristol-headquartered national law firm Burges Salmon a major award.
The firm, which employs around 750 staff in its Bristol HQ and London office, was recognised in Citywealth’s 2020 Powerwomen Awards, landing Silver in the Company of the Year – Female Leadership (Large, Institutional) category.
The annual awards, now in their seventh year, are staged by Citywealth, the magazine for private wealth management professionals.
They aim to create a platform for best practice and positive social influence by highlighting individuals and companies that support caregiving responsibilities, female leadership and celebrate diversity.
Burges Salmon partner Beatrice Puoti, pictured, who heads the firm’s private wealth team, attended the gala dinner in London on Wednesday to receive the award.
She said: “The firm places great emphasis on championing women in wealth and it is a significant achievement to have this commitment recognised with an award in the category of Company of the Year for female leadership at the 2020 Powerwomen Awards.”
Last November Burges Salmon appointed Fiona Smith as its first diversity and inclusion manager.
The firm said the job reflected its commitment to diversity and inclusion and creating culture that is open, collaborative and inclusive – so enabling it to recruit, retain and motivate the highest calibre of people across the business.
