Leader of the Opposition Ed Milliband said the Chancellor's plans had failed. Instead he had delivered a Budget for millionaires.
He said the Government had cut too hard and too fast and had run out of excuses. The US economy had grown at twice the rate of the UK's – but Mr Osborne had opposed the Obama administration's economic policies.
