Bristol's latest hotel – a 151-bedroom Travelodge in Mitchells Lane, Redcliffe – is about to open for business.

The six-storey hotel has a bar, 90-cover café and a 29-space car park in the basement. It also has a ground-floor commercial unit with planning consent for commercial, retail and leisure use which is now being marketed.
The hotel, built on previously open land, was completed within the specified 48-week period overseen by property agents GVA's Bristol office.

GVA director and project manager James Stanger said: “The hotel is in an area of Bristol with old, narrow streets densely occupied with offices and apartments, and within a flood zone. As such, the design-and-build programme has included measures to protect against the impact of flooding and to ensure neighbours’ right to light.

“Thanks to the commitment and professionalism of all the contractors and consultants involved in the project to overcome the challenges, we are delighted to have handed over the hotel to Travelodge on time and within budget.”

The main contractor was Anglo Holt Construction. The building is owned by a client of CB Richard Ellis Investors.

Travelodge, the UK’s fastest-growing hotel chain, now operates 475 hotels with 33,479 rooms across the UK, Ireland (11) and Spain (3). It plans to grow its estate to 1,100 hotels and 100,000 rooms by 2025.
