Hotcha, the fast-growing Bristol-based Chinese takeaway chain, is heading along the M4 to open its first Swindon outlet next month, taking its number of branches to nine.
The business, led by young entrepreneur James Liang, pictured, is investing more than £100,000 in the Swindon premises, in the town’s main Regent Street shopping area. Work has already started on converting the former shop to the familiar Hotcha layout.
The new outlet, which will create 10 jobs, joins five in and around Bristol and one each in Weston-super-Mare, Keynsham and Stroud.
The ambitious chain, founded just over 18 months ago and now turning over more than £1.5m, plans to open a further 150 outlets across the UK over the next five years.
Mr Liang said: “We are very much looking forward to opening the doors of our Swindon store next month and I am confident the Swindon store will go down as well as it has in our current location.
“These are seriously exciting times for Hotcha. We have ambitious growth plans and aim to be the number one takeaway chain in the UK in the next few years.”
Hotcha provides customers with the UK’s favourite Chinese dishes made from freshly-prepared ingredients from its central kitchen in Ashton Vale. It positions itself as the healthy alternative to the standard Chinese takeaway meal, with meals prepared in view of customers while they wait.
The brand has also recently launched a healthy summer menu, with a two-course lunch and drink for £5.
Hotcha’s five Bristol outlets are in Baldwin Street, Gloucester Road, Whiteladies Road, South Liberty Lane and Kingswood.
