International engineering consultancy Cundall has opened an office in Bristol to support its projects in the South West.
The base, in flexible workspace operator Clockwise’s Generator Building at Finzels Reach, is the multidisciplinary consultancy’s ninth in the UK and 27th across the globe.
It opens three years after office lead Charlotte Mercer, pictured below, relocated to the South West to lead its team in the region.
Prior to joining Newcastle-headquartered Cundall in 2015, Charlotte studied Environmental Engineering and Architecture at UWE Bristol.
She said: “The South West is a thriving region with fantastic opportunities for our industry.
“With some brilliant projects and clients in the region already, it is fitting that we create a home here in Bristol to facilitate our delivery.
“I am very excited to be heading up this great new venture for Cundall and look forward to growing and developing our team.”
Cundall management board partner Kevin Hayes said: “We have delivered projects in the South West of England throughout our history but never had an office in the region.
“As part of Cundall’s strategy of organic growth, it was Charlotte’s move that gave us the perfect opportunity to open our new office.
“We feel that our high-quality, net zero carbon design and engineering will help drive the future of the South West economy.”
Established in 1976 and now with more than 1,000 staff and offices in 12 countries across the globe, Cundall provides clients with practical advice and solutions which reduce the environmental impact of their developments and provide better spaces for building users and occupiers, as well as for the wider community.
In 2017 its London office became the first building in Europe to achieve WELL Certification through the WELL Building Standard, which puts the health and wellbeing of occupants at the heart of building design.
